Convincing victory for DI Khan

SARGODHA, June 26: Dera Ismail Khan outplayed Mardan 55-35, Sargodha outlasted Bannu 78-60 and Rawalpindi routed Kohat 58-35 and advanced in the Divisional national basketball Grade B championship at Catholic School courts here Wednesday.

D I Khan remained in control throughout the play and their dominance was reflected their 29-17 lead at break. Naeem (15), Fakhar (12) and Sharif (10) dominated among winners. Mardan were supported by Asmat (12) and Shahzad (10).

Sargodha finished the first session with 37-29 lead over Bannu. Bannu made grand half recovery and brought teams at par at 22-22. Sarfraz gave excellent performance and shared maximum (26) points but failed to save his side from defeat. Nawab Ali (18) contributed notable efforts.

Ahmad Khan shared 22 points and led hosts Sargodha to success and was followed by Mazhar (14).

Rawalpindi and Kohat were locked at 26-26 at break. It was sheer hard work and all round performances of Sylvester (20) and Nadeem (18) which paved the way of success for Pindi.

Usman (12) and Mast Ali (10) laboured well from Kohat.—APP
