Two die as tanker falls into ravine

By Our Correspondent

LANDI KOTAL, June 25: Two people, including a khasadar, were killed and another injured when a water tanker fell into a ravine off Landi Kotal-Peshawar road on Monday evening.

The ill-fated water tanker was on its way to Ali Masjid to fetch water from there. While negotiating a turn, the vehicle went out of the driver’s control and fell into a deep ravine.

The water tanker also hit a khasadar, who was patrolling the road. The driver of the tanker and the khasadar died on the spot while the cleaner of the tanker was injured and later admitted to Landi Kotal hospital for treatment.

The khasadar, identified as Hasan Baz was later buried in Qambarkhel area of Bara while the body of the driver, who was an Afghan refugee, was taken to Naziyan in Nangarhar province of Afghanistan.

Meanwhile, a victim of Friday Landi Kotal bomb blast died in a Peshawar hospital.
