TOBA TEK SINGH, June 25: The Gojra city police arrested on Monday 10 Anjuman Sarfroshan Islam (ASI) activists on the charge of taking out procession and raising slogans in favour of Gohar Shahi.

They include Shahzad Gohar and Qazi Muhammad Farooq of Rawalpindi, Umar Farooq of Attock, Muhammad Faisal, Rana Shahid Gogi, Aziz Ahmad, Muhammad Asif, Shaikh Mukhtar Ahmad, Muhammad Ismail and Tanvir Ahmad of Gojra.

The procession was taken out by the Anjuman workers a few days ago. The participants marched through various bazaars in Gojra and raised objectionable sectarian slogans.

Gojra city police had registered case under sections 295(A) and MPO 16 against more than 50 activists. Raids are being made to arrest the other activists.

KIDNAP: The brother and four relatives of a married woman kidnapped her after injuring her husband in Chak 345-GB on Monday.

Accused Saifullah was married to his brother-in-law Iqbal’s sister in ‘exchange marriage’. Both the families reportedly developed a dispute over some issue.

Saifullah asked Iqbal to send back his sister Shamim Akhtar but the latter refused to oblige him. Saifullah and his four accomplices attacked the house of Iqbal to bring back his sister. Iqbal resisted their bid and the accused opened fire on him. He was admitted to the DHQ hospital in serious condition.
