Farmers slam water theft by landlords

By Our Correspondent

JHANG, June 22: Farmers, whose lands are irrigated by four distributaries emanating from the Lower Jhelum Canal, have slammed the district government for not curbing water theft by landlords.

Talking to Dawn on Saturday, the farmers said the fields of influential landlords were located upstream along the main LJC.

The farmers said they would stage sit-in to lodge their protest against the unchecked crime which had been committed for the last many years.
