PESHAWAR, June 13: NWFP Governor Syed Iftikhar Hussain has said all special quotas have been abolished to uphold the principle of merit, but the quota for Fata students who were studying in colleges located within Fata, has been retained.
He was talking to a delegation of the local chapter of Tribal Union of Journalists at Miran Shah, North Waziristan Agency, on Wednesday.
He said smuggling was harming the local industry and as such, it should be curbed to boost industry and increase job opportunities. He said the government believed in free and responsible press.—APP
