ISLAMABAD, June 10: Members of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Council Fact Finding Committee will visit areas close to the Line of Control (LoC) that have been affected by Indian firing and shelling.

This was decided in a meeting held here on Monday which was presided over by Mumtaz Hussain Naqvi, member of AJK Council, who is the convener of the body.

This committee has been set up by Federal Minister Abbas Sarfaraz Khan.

The committee members will visit Bhimber, Kotli, Rawalakot, Bagh and Muzaffarabad districts from June 14 to 24 to meet the people affected by Indian firing and shelling.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr Naqvi criticized the Indian government for targeting the civilian population in Azad Kashmir.

He said the people of Azad Kashmir were ready to defend every inch of their land alongwith the Pakistan Army.

The meeting also condemned the arrest of Syed Ali Shah Gilani, leader of All Parties Hurriyat Conference.

The meeting was attended by Mohammad Matloob Inkalabi and Dr Najeeb Naqi besides deputy secretary of AJK Council Secretariat Sultan Ahmed, Relief Commissioner of AJK government Mohammad Sadiq Dar and Additional Relief Commissioner Syed Abu Talib Kazmi.
