PESHAWAR, June 5: NWFP Governor Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah has said that Kohat University of Science and Technology would not lag behind in the relevant field and would compete with its sister institutions both in the private and public sector.

At a briefing arranged during his visit to the IT University Kohat on Tuesday, the governor said the university must make considerable progress not only in the existing discipline but also in the launching of new ones to achieve the desired end.

Referring to the demands made by Vice-Chancellor of the university, Sher Ali Khan Shinwari, the governor said all employees must be hired on contract basis and this institution should not depend on the government exchequer.

He announced a grant of Rs5 million for the IT university on this occasion.
