Putin voices concern over situation

ALMATY, June 4: Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed concern on Tuesday about the explosive situation in South Asia ahead of expected talks with the leaders of India and Pakistan on the sidelines of a summit here.

“The situation in the Asian continent is of concern. Almost every day there is firing, shots. People are suffering,” the Russian leader said at the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-building Measures in Asia here.

“The explosive situation between India and Pakistan is destabilising the situation in the Asia subcontinent,” Putin said.—AFP
