KARACHI: 1,594 demand notes issued on spot


KARACHI, May 31: Series of open kutcheries were started in PTCL’s STR-III and STR-II for new telephone connections and the issuance of on-the-spot demand notes.

In STR-III, some 1,504 demand notes were issued to applicants whose demands were pending in ten exchanges.

According to details, open kutcheries were held in Gulshan-i- Iqbal, Nazimabad, Pak Capital and Azizabad exchanges on May 27; New Karachi, PECHS, Orangi Town and Gulistan-i-Jauhar on May 28; Malir Model Colony on May 30 and Karachi Airport on May 31.

Out of 1,504 demand notes issued, 246 were issued in respect of the Gulshan-i-Iqbal exchange, Nazimabad 170, Pak Capital 117, Azizabad 86, New Karachi 406, PECHS 135, Orangi Town 123, Gulistan-i-Jauhar 42, Malir Model Colony 142 and Karachi Airport 37.

The GM STR-III, Nafees Siddiqi, said that people who could not avail this facility can contact the Divisional Engineer Phones Customer Service in their respective exchanges for immediate issuance of demand notes wherever technically feasible.—APP

Meanwhile, PTCL will also carry out development work in its optical fibre cable line between Hyderabad and Moro on June 6, 2002, extending connectivity of optical fibre to Hala exchange.

It has made arrangement to carry out the work without interruption to the live communication services.—APP/PPI
