Heatstroke kills six in Dadu

DADU, May 25: The people of Dadu experienced the hottest day of summer on Saturday as mercury shot up to 51 degree Celsius killing six persons.

At least 32 others fell unconscious due to heatstroke in different parts of the district.

Five of the deceased were identified as Akram Khan Khaskheli (99), Mohammed Ali Jatoi (81), Mohammed Eisso Khushik (73), Ali Nawaz Shahani (37) and Naveedo Kambrani (40). A beggar died at Sehwan Sharif railway station but his name could not be ascertained.

Most of those affected by the sunstroke and admitted to different health centres and hospitals in the district were minors and aged people.

The Indus Highway, Roads and streets in the district limits wore a deserted look by mid-day with vehicles going off the roads.
