Newspapers to observe holiday

KARACHI, May 22: The All Pakistan Newspapers Society has decided that its member publications will observe Sunday as closed holiday instead of Saturday on account of Eid Milad-un-Nabi, falling on the day.

A press release of the APNS here on Wednesday said the government has announced Saturday as public holiday, but being Sunday on the next day, when all publications bring out special issues, it has decided that the APNS publications would observe Sunday as holiday.

Consequently, there will be no morning newspapers on Monday, whereas eveningers not appearing on Sunday may bring out their issues on Monday if they so desire.—APP
