KARACHI, May 15: politicians who may not be able to contest the next general election owing to the mandatory condition of graduation set by the present government are allegedly making frantic efforts to secure fake Bachelor’s degrees.

The practice of acquiring fake degrees is not new in Sindh and one can easily secure even a Master’s degree by paying a few thousand rupees.

An insider at the Government Ghazali College Hyderabad revealed that a number of well-known politicians had approached the college administration for securing degrees.

He said although acquiring fake degrees was an easy task prior to the takeover by the army, it had become very difficult.

An official of a government college of Tando Mohammad Khan claimed they were also facing pressure to enrol undergraduate politicians in back dates, enabling them to appear in the graduation exams before October.—PPI
