Minister seeks support for referendum

By Our Correspondent

TIMERGARA, April 26: The minister for Kashmir Affairs, Abbas Sarfraz Khan, called upon the Nazims and Naib Nazims to empower President Pervez Musharraf by voting for him in the referendum.

He was speaking at a meeting of elected representatives on Thursday. He said that people opposed to the reform agenda of the president, wanted to sabotage his initiatives for their own interests.

He said that unlike the governments of Nawaz Sharif and Benazir Bhutto, President Musharraf had started a real, across-the-board accountability, covering all from admirals to patwaris. The Nazim of Dir also spoke at the meeting.
