HYDERABAD, April 25: The Election Commission has proposed setting up of 87,074 polling stations and 163,641 booths in all the provinces, the federal capital, political agencies and Frontier Regions for the referendum.

For Sindh province, there will be 21,109 polling stations and 44,016 booths.

In order to facilitate people to cast votes as near their residences or workplaces as possible, polling stations are to be set up at all government offices, major railway stations, banks, airports, bus stands, all factories/organisations/institutions (having approximately 500 employees), all other frequently visited public places like major hotels/restaurants, shopping centres, schools/colleges, union councils, provincial/federal secretariat, service headquarters, PIA, railways, WAPDA head office, radio, TV centres, petrol stations etc.

The number of polling stations and polling booths may be increased further.
