All-Punjab final

LAHORE, April 24: Punjab Greens and Punjab Colours entered the final of the All-Pakistan inter-provincial girls school hockey tournament,  winning their respective semifinals at the National Hockey Stadium Wednesday.

Greens defeated Balochistan Whites 3-0 in the first semifinal, while Punjab Colours struggled to beat Sindh Colours 1-0 in the second semifinal.

Sabiha gave Greens an early lead when she fired a field goal in the 5th minute and Rabia Qadir made it 2-0 in the  21st minute. Halftime score was 2-0.

Greens completed the tally when Naila scored the third goal in the very first minute of the second half.

Punjab Colours, however, faced opposition from a Sindh Colours before winning 1-0. The first half was goalless.

Ayesha Bashir scored the solitary goal in the 32nd minute.

Earlier, three pool matches were decided.

Balochistan Whites beat  Punjab  Whites  1-0 to book a place in the semifinal. Nargis struck the goal in the 26th minute on a field attempt.

Balochistan Colours and Sindh Whites played a goalless draw.

Punjab Greens earned a narrow 1-0 win against Colours. The Colours, however, made it to the last four on better point averages. Sabeha Mehmood scored the match winner in the 6th minute.

The final will be played on Thursday at 10am.  

The match for third  place will be played between  Balochistan  Whites and Sindh Colours.
