‘Press portal to social reforms’

By Our Correspondent

SARGODHA, April 23: The press can play a significant role in the restoration of democracy and social reforms in the country.

This was stated by federal law minister Dr Khalid Ranjha while talking to local newsmen under its ‘meet the press’ programme here on Tuesday.

He said the national press had always played a dominant role in promoting government’s designs for development.

The coming referendum is constitutional and political need of the country, he said, assuring it would be held transparently.

Programme coordinator Punjab minority Advisory Council Brig Yaqoob Dogar (retired) apprised the newsmen of various development projects they had undertaken.

Local Press Club President Advocate Sajjad Abbas Mazi demanded that special grant should be provided for the establishment of guest house for visiting journalists.
