QUETTA, April 23: Balochistan Governor Amirul Mulk Mengal has said the presidential referendum is not unconstitutional, as 1973’s Constitution allows holding of referendum.

“We will not violate the Constitution even in future,” he said here on Tuesday while talking to various delegations, including, of Hazara Tribe led by Balochistan Irrigation and Power Minister Sardar Mehdi Hassan Musa; of Quetta city led by Balochistan Planning and Development Minister Malik Naeem Ahmed and of women led by Balochistan Social Welfare Minister Mrs Roshan Khurshid Bharucha.

He said Gen Musharraf was taking all possible steps for the speedy uplift of Balochistan to prosper people of the province. “We should jointly struggle to promote the cause of President Musharraf and provide him with an opportunity to further work for the welfare and progress of the country by electing him as president for next five years.”
