QUETTA, April 22: A new political party with the name of Pakistan Workers Party (PWP) was formed here on Monday.
An announcement in this regard was made here at a convention of the political workers committee. Nasarullah Khan Kakar was elected chairman of the new party, while Zafar Khan Afgan would be its first secretary-general.
Other office-bearers of the party included Syed Haji Gul Shah, vice-chairman; Qazi Ali Ahmed, deputy secretary-general; Syed Makhdoom Hussain Bukhsh, central joint secretary; Jalal Din Zerak, secretary information; Haji Mardan Achakzai, secretary finance; Maulvi Ziaul Haq, secretary coordination; Hasan Shah Zaman Pasdaran, Mohammad Hanif, office secretary and Haji Sher Zaman, secretary foreign affairs.
Later, at a meeting the council gave approval of the manifesto, constitution and flag of the new party. The council session also decided to fully support the presidential referendum to be held on April 30.
Speaking on the occasion, PWP Chairman Nasarullah Khan said that the PWP had been formed to protect the rights of the people.
