SUKKUR, April 17: Ameer Haider Shah, the youngest son of Sindh’s ex-chief minister Syed Ghous Ali Shah, committed suicide in Gari Mori, his home town, some 40km from Sukkur, on Wednesday.

Family sources said that upon returning home from Khairpur, he locked his room from inside, fired a pistol shot in his head and fell on the floor.

The family members and some servants broke the door open and found Mr Shah lying in a pool of blood.

They rushed him to Hira Hospital, Sukkur, where he breathed his last.

Doctors on duty said his death was caused by too much bleeding, as the bullet had pierced through his head.

He leaves behind his wife and three sons.

Ghous Ali Shah was informed of this incident in London and was expected to arrive home to attend the burial.
