SHARJAH, April 17: Opener Imran Nazir, who scored back-to-back half centuries here reached the first landmark of his career Wednesday, completing 1000 runs in One-day Internationals.
Imran reached the landmark on the last ball of the 12th over against Sri Lanka in the final of the Sharjah Cup.
Imran, playing in his 40th One-day International, scored 63 from 61 balls with the help of 10 fours and one six before he was clean bowled by Upul Chandana. His first half century here was against New Zealand in the last preliminary round match Monday when he scored 57 off 53 balls which included nine boundaries.
Imran’s other knocks in the contest include 25 and 34 against Sri Lanka and 47 against New Zealand.
