ISLAMABAD, April 16: Pakistan has rich cultural heritage and the people are the custodian of the world’s most indigenous civilizations, including Mehrgarh, Moenjedharo, Harrapa and Ghandhara.

This was stated by Oh Sung Woo, leader of a goodwill delegation from the Republic of Korea.

The 17-member delegation of artists visited the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) and the National Art Gallery here on Tuesday.

Mr Woo said the enlightened world always acknowledged the unparalleled contribution of these ancient civilizations in the development of the present day culture all over the world.

The Korean artist said the national heritage collection at the Gallery represented Pakistan’s creative pursuits.

He said the Korean artists had visited the major cities of the country and were particularly fascinated by the scenic beauty of the Northern Areas.

During their visit to the National Gallery, the artists made sketches of different venues of their interest. These paintings will be displayed at the Gallery as the reminiscences of the artists’ visit to Pakistan.

Earlier, the PNCA director-general, Raja Chagez Sultan, in his welcome speech unfolded the glorious past of Pakistan’s national heritage and its evolution to the present time.—Our Reporter
