KARACHI: Joints pain affecting people

KARACHI, April 12: Pakistanis are increasingly turning prone to developing arthritis or osteoarthritis and associated chronic pain at a comparatively young age, often on attaining the age of 50.

There are an estimated 1.8 million patients approaching local doctors with arthritis (joints pain) and osteoarthritis, besides rheumatoid arthritis, who are prescribed either an antacid or anti-ulcerant drugs.

Such patients consuming painkillers at the slightest pretext are feared to be inflicted with multiple conditions, including edema. —APP
