KARACHI, April 11: The provincial minister for local government, labour, transport and industries, Dewan Muhammad Yousuf Farooqui, visited, on Thursday, the Operation Room, set up for Referendum 2002 at the office of the Provincial Transition Wing.

The minister, who heads the Provincial Coordination Committee for Referendum, was accompanied by Home Secretary, Brig Mukhtar Ahmed; Secretary Information, Shahnaz Hamid; Secretary Local Government, Qamar Zaman and Inspector General of Police, Syed Kamal Shah.

Mr Zaman informed the minister that the operation room has been provided with 15 telephone lines and four telephone fax machines for getting referendum results from all the districts, Talukas and towns without delay. —PPI
