HYDERABAD, April 10: The president of the former SRTC employees action committee, Haji Ghulam Mohammad Daper, and Ghulam Nabi Kalhoro started their hunger strike unto death outside the press club while a token hunger strike by seven other employees entered the 38th day here on Wednesday.
Daper and Kalhoro vowed to continue their hunger strike unto death till the payment of all dues to the ex-workers.
Meanwhile, the chairman of the action committee, Syed Ahmed Ali Shah, joint secretary Irshad Shah and other leaders have accused Sindh labour and transport minister Deewan Yousuf Farooqui of launching a false propaganda that the dues of over Rs257 million would be paid to employees very soon.
They warned that the former employees would raised their voice against the non-payment of their dues during the visit of the president to Hyderabad, the responsibility for the consequences would be on the Sindh government.
GODOWN WORKERS: Employees of the food department under the banner of Food Grain Godown Workers Union continued their hunger strike outside the press club for the 66th consecutive day here on Wednesday.
They have been protesting against the illegal deduction from the salaries of wheat godowns watchmen, for the regularisation of old employees and reinstatement of dismissed employees.
SUGAR MILLS: A group of workers under the banner of the Sindh Sugar Mills Trade Unions Federation observed a token hunger strike outside the press club here on Wednesday.
