Boy killed in Indian shelling

MUZAFFARABAD, March 30: A minor boy was killed and his two sisters were injured in shelling by Indian troops from across the Line of Control in the Bhimbher district of Azad Kashmir, officials said on Saturday.

Bhimbher police chief Tariq Ajmi told Dawn by telephone that the Indian troops started shelling on Friday afternoon without any provocation.

On Friday evening, the SP said, a shell hit the compound of a house in Bandala village killing a 5-year-old boy, Afaq, son of Abdul Ghani, and injuring his two sisters, Saima, 10 and Shakila, 8. The injured were admitted to Civil Hospital in Bhimbher city

SRINAGAR: A civilian was killed and two others injured as Indian and Pakistani troops exchanged fire over the Line of Control (LoC), Indian defence sources said on Saturday, adds AFP.
