LANDI KOTAL, March 27: The Jamaat-i-Islami, Khyber Agency, has criticized the government for its plan to employ teachers in FATA on the contract basis.

The secretary-general of Landi Kotal JI, Sudher Afridi, in a statement said that a number of vacancies were lying vacant in many schools due to which students were suffering a lot.

He claimed that the education department had on many occasions invited candidates for tests and interviews to fill these vacancies but the practice proved to be an exercise in futility.

He demanded that preference be given to tribal candidates while filling different vacant posts in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas.
