Blasts rock Lima again

LIMA, March 23: At least six explosive devices went off around midday on Saturday in eastern Lima, just hours ahead of a visit by US President George W. Bush, but there were no casualties, local radio reported.

The explosions in San Juan de Lurigancho, a sparsely populated section of the capital, came just days after a bomb exploded near the US Embassy here on Wednesday. It is not known who set off the apparently homemade devices — one of which detonated near a bridge, according to the Radioprogramas del Peru report. —AFP
