PEACE COMMITTEES: Ulema belonging to various schools of thought have pledged to forge unity in their ranks during Muharram.
At a meeting of district peace committees of Faisalabad, Jhang and Toba Tek Singh here on Thursday, they said tolerance and forgiveness, teachings of the Holy Prophet (SAW), were the pre-requisite for maintaining peace, harmony and amity in society.
Islam taught us love and regard for others even by sacrificing personal gains for the larger interest of the community, they said. Sentiments of fraternity and affection, they said, could be infused in society by uprooting the feelings of hatred and enmities from our hearts.
