NGO opens 1,300 girl schools

By Our Staff Correspondent

QUETTA, March 13: A US-based NGO, Academy for Educational Development (AED), has opened 1300 girl schools in Balochistan and around 100,000 students have been enrolled in these educational institutions.

This was stated by Managing-director of Society for Community Support Programme (SCSP) Irfan Ahmed Awan while speaking at a Press Conference here the other day.

He said that some 24,000 students would be given admissions to such schools which were likely to be set up in Pishin and other districts of Balochistan soon. He said the AED had been working in Pakistan and other countries for the last 20 years.

“We have recently distributed 40,000 educational kits among Afghan children.”
