65 missing children recovered in February
LARKANA, March 5: Of the 71 children who went missing in Larkana District during the month of February, 65 have been reunited with their families, while only six remain untraced.
Anwer Khokhar, who runs an NGO, the Khidmat-e-Masoom Welfare Trust said that out of the 65 children who were recovered 34 were boys while 31 were girls. All were between the ages of three and five.
He listed many reasons for the frequent missing of children but he sited parental negligence as the main reason.
He said that the following six children still remained missing: M. Rafique Hulio, Irshad Junijo, Rahim Bakhsh Chandio, Abdul Malik Mughiri, Ghulam Shabir Bohyo, and Khadim Hussain Solangi.
He told this correspondent on Tuesday that certain gangs were operating in Larkana District and they had established contacts with gangsters in Khairpur District.
He said that children who were poor at studies often chose to roam at railway stations, bus stands and video game arcades from where the professional child lifters kidnapped them.
SHC: The Sindh High Court, circuit bench, Larkana, has directed the SHO, Kambar, Mumtaz Ali Khuhro, and duty officer, ASI, Ali Murtaza Chandio, to appear before the court on March 7 and explain about the alleged detention of three men — Gul Hassan Abro, Haji Yakoob, and Imdad Ali Shabrani.
The division bench comprised Justice Zawar Hussain Jaffery and Justice M. Afzal Soomro.
PPP(SB): The chairperson, PPP(SB), Ghinwa Bhutto asked the people to avoid electing the same breed of tried politicians who had always broken the trust of the people and preferred their individual interest to the collective good of the people.
She said this while addressing party workers at the Al-Murtaza House, Larkana, on Monday.
