Five teachers sacked

SUKKUR, March 3: Five office-bearers of a teachers’ association were dismissed from service here on Saturday for interrupting increment test in Jan last.

The Sindh government had decided to conduct teachers’ test for granting pay increments and promotion.

The decision was vehemently opposed by teachers community and protest rallies against it were staged in different parts of Sindh.

The activists of the Teachers’ Alliance staged a protest demonstration outside the BEd College centre here and did not allow the candidates to appear in the test.

On Saturday the officials of the education department and the in charge of the army’s district support team reviewed their case and decided to terminate the services of the five leaders.

The sacked teachers were Subhan Ali Shah, president, Primary Teachers Association, Sukkur, Zubaida Ghangro, Khuda Bukhsh, Ansari, Javed Maher and Sarwer Bhatti, office-bearers of the PTA.
