Published March 3, 2002

MIRPURKHAS, March 2: The leader of the PML (QA) Mian Mohammad Azhar said that the allegation levelled against Punjab for stealing water from Sindh share was not correct and termed it a propaganda of the nationalists. He was talking to newsmen at Sindhri on Saturday.

He said that small dams should be constructed in provinces to overcome the water crisis. He added that water distribution among the provinces should also be under the 1991 accord, and there was no need of any new agreement or formula.

He said that there was a sense of deprivation among the people of Sindh and they had also some complaints which should be redressed.
