SUKKUR: Stolen oil recovered by FIA

SUKKUR, Feb 20: The FIA, Sukkur, on Tuesday in a raid at a graveyard here recovered stolen stock of furnace oil and arrested two persons.

The furnace oil spilled after the recent derailment of an oil train near Daur and Bandhi railway stations and accumulated in ditches from where the accused had stolen it with the connivance of the railway staff.

On the information that the furnace oil from the place of derailment was being sent to Sukkur, Hyderabad, Kotri and Karachi, the FIA raided the area and arrested Imdad and Ghulam Nabi while they were filling furnace oil in drums.

The FIA took into custody 16 oil drums, three pickups, sucking pumps, motors and a generator.

Later, on the identification of the arrested persons, a raid was conducted at the graveyard and the stolen furnace oil was recovered from a ditch.

The FIA is conducting raids to arrest the two other accused, Haji Nawab and Haji Bhagro, who are said to be the owners of oil factories.

KILLED: One person was killed and two others were injured in a road accident near the Rohri bypass on Monday.

A truck loaded with sacrificial animals coming from Punjab to Karachi overturned.

The owner of the cattle, Allah Rakhio Malik, was killed and Wazir Ghoto and Serwer Chachar were seriously injured. The injured were taken to the Taluka hospital, Rohri.
