GUJAR KHAN, Feb 19: Huge oil and gas reserves have been discovered at Missa oil and gasfield, five kilometres from Gujar Khan, the Oil and Gas Development Company sources told Dawn on Tuesday.

The sources said that the drilling at Well No 3 of the Missa Kaswal oil and gasfield at Tobra led to the discovery. The field could produce 1600 barrels of crude and three million square feet LPG daily.

Maj-Gen Akmal Pervaiz, the Managing-director of OGDCL, visited the site and expressed his pleasure over the find and directed the Operation Manager of the oil field to distribute meals and offer prayers by inviting the locals of the area to express gratitude to Allah almighty over His blessings.
