Ombudsman’s regional offices soon

LARKANA, Feb 14: Three regional offices of the provincial ombudsman would be established in Larkana, Hyderabad and Mirpurkhas.

Talking to Dawn, here on Thursday, Provincial Ombudsman Hazikul Khari said that the government had already approved Larkana and Hyderabad offices and shortly both the offices would start working with the posting of advisors and consultants.

To a question he said that majority of the complaints were pertaining to the house and town planning department and the local government department.

He said that three committees were constituted to conduct study regarding education, health and women and juvenile prisoners and prisons.

The study regarding women and juvenile prisons and prisoners carried out by a team led by Mehtab Rashdi, director general of the provincial ombudsman office, had been completed and soon would be made public with findings and recommendations.

He said the volume of complaints continued to expand with the ratio of 2,000 complains per year and added that they were trying to dispose off cases n shortest possible time.

Earlier, he visited Jinnah Bagh and Zulfikar Bagh in view of complaints he had received about encroachments inside the public parks.

VOCATIONAL CENTRES: Vocational centres would be established in the educational institutions in Larkana district to train educated jobless youth with the collaboration of the Shaheed Z.A. Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology.

This was said by DCO, Larkana, Mohammed Hashim Memon, while talking to this scribe.

He said that it would help in absorbing the educated youth in various departments.
