Islamabad record first win in Quaid Trophy
KARACHI, Feb 9: Skipper Rao Iftikhar guided Islamabad to a remarkable one-wicket victory over Rest of Punjab with a day to spare in the Quaid Trophy Grade-I tie at Gymkhana Cricket Ground in Okara Saturday.
According to a message received here, Islamabad made 178 for nine in their second innings to record their first win in the championship with Iftikhar top-scoring with 37.
Medium-pacer Abdur Rauf bowled superbly to capture his second haul of five wickets in the match. He finished with 10 for 149.
Earlier, Iftikhar excelled with the ball to claim five for 51 (match bag of nine for 115) as Punjab lost their last nine wickets for 64 runs having resumed their second innings at 71 for one.
