PESHAWAR, Feb 8: Participants of a group discussion urged the government to establish good relations with all neighbouring countries and abandon support to any particular group in Afghanistan.
The discussion on the topic of “Current Afghan imbroglio: lessens and implications for Pakistan” was organised by Peshawar University Teachers Association (PUTA) in collaboration with Friederich Ebert Stiftung (FES), an Islamabad-based German NGO, at Senate Hall of Peshawar University on Thursday.
Chairman Human Rights Commission of Pakistan Afrasiyab Khattak, Director Area Study Centre of Peshawar University Dr Azmat Hayat Khan and Col (retd) Yahya Afandi were the main speakers.
Col (retd) Yahya Afandi said that the Afghan problem was not created by Pakistan, as the Western countries were equally responsible for creating the Taliban for their own interests.
