Armed men kidnap girl

DADU, Feb 7: A girl was kidnapped over a matrimonial dispute by seven armed men in the Bughia Mohalla of Khairpur Nathan Shah town on Thursday.

Seven armed men barged into the house of Ghulam Qadir Chandio and kidnapped his daughter ‘G’, 18, at gunpoint in a jeep.

The Khairpur Nathan Shah police have registered an FIR against Bhutto Khoso, Asghar, Ahmed, Nabi Jurio, Meeral, Hassan and Lakhmeer Khoso.

SHOT DEAD: A man, Rasheed Ahmed, 24, was shot dead by three persons over an old enmity at the guest house of Anwar Chandio in Mansoor colony, Mehar on Thursday.

The Mehar police on the complaint of Mohammad Bagan Khoso, uncle of the deceased, has lodged an FIR against three accused, Inayat, Zulfiqar and Anwar, all Chandio by caste.

SP: Cases would be investigated on merit and justice would be provided to the people.

This was said by SP, investigation, Dadu, Haji Mohammad Siddique, while talking to newsmen after taking the charge of his office here on Thursday.

He said that the people of far-flung areas would get justice under the new police system and added that at least four cases would be handed over to every investigating officer in a month.

He asked the people to cooperate with the investigation teams.

DEMO HELD: The employees of the Sehwan Sharif municipal taluka held a demonstration in front of the office of the Nazim Taluka, Sehwan, on Monday to protest against the non-payment of their salaries since the last five months.

TWO ARRESTED: Two absconders were arrested by the police in raids at the Shah village and Bux Jatoi village on Monday. M. Saleh was arrested by the Khairpur Nathan Shah police from the Shah village.
