LAHORE, Feb 1: A division bench of the Lahore High Court has accepted the bail application of an accused in a narcotics case on the ground that the sub-inspector who had registered the case against him has been dismissed from service for registering a false case.

Liaqat Ali was arrested by the Ferozewala police following the recovery of over two kilogram hashish from him.

His counsel submitted that investigation by an additional superintendent of police revealed that the contraband had been brought and handed over to the SI by one Farid Bhatti against whom a separate case had been registered, and the SI had been dismissed from service for registering a false case against the accused.
