SLIC workers reject new working plan

Published January 26, 2002

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Jan 25: Workers of State Life Insurance Corporation (SLIC) have rejected the new working structure of the corporation for its field staff.

SLIC Field Workers Associa-tion and their federation have threatened to suspend working if the new plan would not be withdrawn within one week.

The corporation had implemented a new working structure for its field force on Jan 2 without taking them into confidence. Through this structure, not only the commission rates for sales officers were cut, but some specific restrictions and conditions were also imposed to decrease their benefits.

This structure was implemented through a letter No. Marketing/01/2001 dated Jan 7, 2002 by marketing executive director.
