Saadia shines

LAHORE, Jan 24: Government College, Samundari, clinched the Punjab University women handball title defeating Punjab University Teaching Department in the final 8-4 goals at the Government College of Education here on Thursday.

The winners led the first half 3-1.

Saadia Norin scored four goals and played a key role for her college’s succes. Imrana Naseer ably supported her and scored three goals. Rashada Shakoor added one goal.

For the losers, Asma Noor struggled and contributed two goals while Mehrin Butt and Nazish Munir struck one goal apiece.

Earlier, Government College, Baghbanpura, Lahore, got the third position, defeating Government Garrison College, Lahore, by a big margin of 11-0 after taking 6-0 lead at the interval.

Maafia Butt contributed four goals. Yasmin added three goals while Rabia chipped in with two goals. Saba and Neelma Hasan netted one goal each.
