Lahore face D.G Khan

LAHORE, Jan 18: The defending champions Lahore  will  meet Dera  Ghazi  Khan  in the opening match of  the  Punjab  Under-16 Inter-District hockey championship which starts at the National Hockey Stadium from Jan 19 to 28.

According to the draws, six matches will be played  on  the first day.

The  winners will get Rs 25,000 and the runners-up Rs  15,000 while the team finishing third will be honoured with a cash prize of Rs 10,000.

At the conclusion of the championship, the Punjab team will be selected to take part in the Youth Inter-Provincial  championship to be held here from Feb 11 to 13.

First day matches:

Lahore  vs Dera Ghazi Khan 12noon; Rawalpindi vs  Mianwali  at 12noon; Faisalabad vs Mandi Bahauddin at 1.30pm; Muzaffargarh vs Rajanpur 1.30pm; Sargodha vs Kasur 3pm; Lodhran vs Jhang 3pm.
