Sindh facing defeat

KARACHI, Jan 16: Rest of Sindh were battling to avoid innings defeat after they were forced to follow-on by Karachi Blues on the penultimate day of the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Grade-I fixture at KCCA Stadium here Wednesday.

Sindh were tottering at 100 for six in their second innings, still 111 runs away from making Karachi Blues bat again. Pacer Rizwan Saeed claimed three of the first four wickets in a hostile opening spell.

Earlier, Sindh did well to reach 255 in their first knock after a middle order collapse saw them in tatters at 140 for six with the Blues skipper Mohammad Javed taking three for eight in 37 balls.

Abdul Rahim, forced to retire at 183 for six with a thigh strain after making 31, finished with a courageous 55 off 100 balls with four fours. Fellow left-hander Rizwan Qureshi was run out for 48 (off 98 balls, two fours). The pair added 45 for the last wicket.
