HYDERABAD, Jan 16: The chairman of Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda), Lt. General Zulfiqar Ali Khan, has urged the employees of Hyderabad Electric Supply Company to realise their responsibilities and perform their duties with spirit of national duty in their respective fields.
Speaking to the officers and employees of Operation Division and the GSO, Hesco, at Badin on Wednesday, he directed the employees to ensure the normal supply of water and power in the country.
He took notice of the huge line losses and unsatisfactory recovery of outstanding dues in Operation Division, Tando Mohammed Khan, and Operation Sub-Division Badin, and appointed Hesco chief engineer Abdul Rasheed Khan as the chairman of inquiry committee to look into the matter.
The Wapda chairman made it clear that no downsizing was being carried out in the organization and those, who were declared as surplus, were being adjusted in other departments of the organization.
He directed to the authorities concerned to adjust the lower division clerks of Hesco, who were declared surplus, in other wings of Hesco.
He also directed the appointment of staff on vacant posts of meter readers, bill distributors and line staff in Operation Sub-Division, HESCO, Badin.
Earlier, the Wapda chairman visited the office of Operation Sub-Division, Hesco, Tando Mohammed Khan, where he was briefed about the performance, recovery and line losses of the sub-division.—APP
