KARACHI: Medical colleges’ problems discussed


KARACHI, Jan 11: A delegation of private medical universities of Sindh called on the provincial health minister, Ahsan Ahmed, here on Friday and briefed him about the issues and problems arising between the private medical colleges, universities and the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC).

The delegation informed the minister that the outlying problems with the PMDC had been continuing for the past many years and urged the health department to play its role for safeguarding the future of students of these institutions.

The minister asked the delegation to send him a complete working paper so that, after consultation with the governor, he could speak to the federal health minister in this respect.

The delegation included the Chancellor of Baqai Medical University, Dr Fariduddin Baqai, Professor Zahida Baqi and Chancellor Ziauddin University, Dr Asim.—APP
