PESHAWAR: New CJ of PHC takes oath

PESHAWAR, Jan 10: Justice Mian Shakirullah Jan was on Thursday administered the oath as Chief Justice of the Peshawar High Court (PHC) at a ceremony held here at Governor’s House.

The NWFP Governor Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah administered the oath.

The oath-taking ceremony was attended by judges of the Peshawar High Court, provincial ministers, civil and military officials and lawyers.

Mian Shakirullah Jan was elevated to the post of Chief Justice after the elevation of the incumbent Chief Justice of PHC Sardar Mohammad Raza as Judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan.—APP
