HYDERABAD, Jan 10: Sindh agriculture extension project, Hyderabad, has introduced entry test for admission in two-year training course of field assistants and stock assistants at the agriculture training institutes of Sakrand and Jacobabad.
Announcing this, a spokesman of the project said here on Thursday that forms for admission in current academic session were available at these institutes.
The last date of submitting the forms is Jan 25 and the entry test would be held on Jan 31.
Students having passed SSC science examinations with A, B and C grade are eligible for applying.
The subjects of agronomy, farm management, horticulture, plant protection, farm mechanization, human nutrition, poultry and dairy husbandry, and agriculture extension are taught to the trainees of agriculture field assistant course.
To the trainees of livestock assistant course, the subjects of animal anatomy, physiology, poultry husbandry, breeding and nutrition, animal health, dairy husbandry, breeding and genetics are taught.
Two new subjects of English and Communication Skills are being introduced from the current academic session.
At both the institutes, facilities of hostel, demonstration fields, herbarium, learning tools and aids, sports and library are provided to the trainees.
At Sakrand, a special centre for lady field assistants is also functioning which produces 20 to 30 trained female farm workers every year.
Both public and private sectors as well as rural NGOs engage these trained workers, the spokesman said.
