PESHAWAR, Jan 1: The Peshawar High Court on Tuesday declined bail to a person accused of drug pushing.

A single bench comprising Justice Shehzad Akber Khan ruled that the accused-applicant was involved in a heinous offence and was not entitled to bail.

The applicant, Mohammad Jehangir, was arrested by the Faqirabad police when he was carrying a cage. He told the police that there were some pigeons in the cage which he was taking to Punjab. On search, the police allegedly recovered 8kg Charas and 200 grams of opium from the cage.

Earlier, his bail petition was turned down by the sessions court.
