LARKANA, Dec 26: The session of the Zila council on Wednesday was interrupted when its members raised a din against the non-implementation of resolutions and members being ignored.

When the session started under the chairmanship of Nazir Ahmed Bughio, a lady councillor, Nasim Sahito, objected over neglecting women and alleged that wheat was being distributed only amongst the favourites.

The Nazims — Badar Abbasi, Safdar Mithani, Bashir Ahmed Shaikh, Ms Iqbal Bano, and Ms Khudyat Abbasi among others — agreeing to Ms Sahito’s viewpoint stood up on their seats and boycotted the session.

The chief whip, Amir Bakhsh Gaad, brought them back in the house after negotiations.

However, certain Nazims including M. Amin Mengal, Abdul Qadir Sangi, and Niaz Chandio of the Awam Dost panel decried the non-implementation of the passed resolutions which led to pandemonium in the house.

The convener tried to calm the situation but failed to do so. He adjourned the session till Thursday.

Later, while talking to this correspondent, the convener said that they had forwarded the resolutions passed by the house to the government and it was up to the government to either reject or pass it.
