KARACHI, Dec 26: Two ships carrying chemicals and containers are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources.

Three others, Central Park, Gillian and Khairpur, with chemicals, containers and general cargo, whose arrivals were delayed are also due.

Berthing activity at the wharves was light as only three ships, PONL Pemba, Express Kalash to unload and load containers, and Sigme to offload chemicals were berthed after the sailing of two, PONL Everest and Ilya Erenburg.

Some others including Isola Turhese, Express Kalash, PONL Pemba, Wan Hai-232, Sigme and Swat are due to sail out on Thursday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves relatively slow owing to public holiday on account of Quaid-e-Azam’s birthday on Tuesday and fell to 15,522 tons of liquid cargo, notably 15,122 tons of molasses.

The following ships are due on Thursday; NCC Hijaz, with chemicals and Lanka Mahapola with containers.
